This exhibition portrays scenes of Inner Mongolia through images and texts, displaying various original items of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Folk artisans from Inner Mongolia will be in Macao to present their traditional crafts. On display will be the large Mongolian tents known as yurts, and the visiting craftspeople will demonstrate to the public the skills involved in producing prints, sheepskin rugs, Mongolian embroidery and Mongolian birchbark handicrafts, as well as the characteristic paper-cutting of Inner Mongolia. All are welcome to learn about these traditional folk arts while experiencing a taste of the nomadic desert lifestyle!

The grand opening ceremony is scheduled for 3pm on the afternoon of June 9th and will feature performances of Mongolian folk dances, traditional Mongolian “long songs” (urtiin duu), Tuvan throat singing and music of the traditional Mongolian two-stringed fiddle (morin khuur). These are fantastic, exotic performances that should not be missed!
