125 artworks have been selected for the 2006 Macao Annual Art Exhibition for next year's Macao Arts Festival. Non-selected artworks will be available for collection by their artists at the Tap Seac Gallery on November 26 and 27.
For the 2006 Macao Annual Art Exhibition to be held during the Macao Arts Festival next March, 125 art works have been selected from 357 artworks submitted after being appraised.
The entries chosen to be displayed are in great varieties. They include 22 ink paintings, 28 of inscription artworks, 32 drawings, 24 photographs, 9 sculptures, 7 posters, 1 installation and 2 videos. Artworks submitted include 165 local artists from different sectors of the community, including professionals, amateurs, teachers and students. The list of winners was posted on November 25 at the main entrance of the Tap Seac Gallery and also announced on the Macao Art Net (www.macaoart.net).
The appraisal session was opened to the public and the appraisal process was interviewed and reported by media. Judges invited to participate in the appraisal process include: Zhang Zhi’an, President of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Professor Wang Dongling, Department of Calligraphy of Chinese Academy of Art, Wenlou, Chairman of the Hong Kong Art Association, Assistant Professor Ruan Yizhong, Department of Fine Arts and Graduate School for Art Creation of Taiwan National Institute of the Arts and Balbir Bodh, Director of the Department of Visual Arts of Pathways International School.
On November 26 and 27, the organizer will return the non-selected artworks and also items displayed in the 2005 Macao Annual Art Exhibition at the Tap Seac Gallery. In order to make it convenient for the artworks to be collected, office hours will start from 10am to 5pm on these 2 days (with no lunch break). Those who are unable to pick up their works personally can authorize someone else on their behalf, but the entrusted person must present the receipt, authorization letter and the ID copy of the author of the artworks as well as their own ID.
