Almost 40 works never before displayed will be featured in a local show promoting modern ceramic art in the Pearl River Delta.
Artists from Macau and Hong Kong have been invited to present their work in an exhibition that shows a clear intent on the part of the Macau Government to bet on new arts. Modern ceramics by 19 artists will be on display at the Tap Seac Gallery beginning January 20th.
The Cultural Affairs Bureau holds this "Joint Exhibition of Modern Ceramics in Macao and Hong Kong" with the aim of promoting modern ceramic art.
Seven artists from Hong Kong were invited to participate along with nine other ceramists from Macau. Three local artists will be featured in the show as well. As winners of a competition held last summer in conjunction with this exhibition, these local artists will see their work displayed alongside that of famous ceramists from Hong Kong and Macau until the exhibit's close on March 19th.
The show aims to enhance the exchange of ceramic art theory between Hong Kong and Macao and to promote visual thinking and technical innovation in order to raise the overall standard of ceramic creation.
