34th Macao Young Musicians Competition successfully concludedSiu Lai Na wins Cultural Affairs Bureau Prize

The trials of the “34th Macao Young Musicians Competition” of the Cultural Affairs Bureau have been concluded. Several extraordinary young musicians competed in a few days ago (7 August) in the Competition for Special Awards, to great acclaim. The “Cultural Affairs Bureau Prize” was awarded to Siu Lai Na and, meanwhile, the winner of the Award for Best Group Performance was announced, as well as the winners in the other categories. The award ceremony was attended by the Head of the Department of Cultural Events of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Kent Ieong Chi Kin, as well as by members of the jury Kuo, Lien-Chang, Chen, Ju-Chi, Dai Luqing and Zhou Zhan, among others.

Announcement of competition schedule (final version) and jury list of the Macao Young Musicians Competition

The 34th Macao Young Musicians Competition, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, this year comprising the categories of Chinese instruments and western instruments, will be held between 27 July and 5 August at the Dom Pedro V Theatre and the Institute for Tourism Studies (main campus). The contest for Special Prizes takes place at the Dom Pedro V Theatre on 7 August, with the competition spanning a total of 12 days.

Announcement of the 34th Macao Young Musicians Competition schedule

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the 34th Macao Young Musicians Competition, dedicated to the categories of Chinese and Western instruments, will be held between 27 July and 5 August at the Dom Pedro V Theatre and the Institute for Tourism Studies (main campus) concurrently, while the Competition for Special Prizes will be held on 7 August, at the Dom Pedro V Theatre. Application for the 34th Macao Young Musicians Competition is closing soon

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 34th Macao Young Musicians Competition will be held between 25 July and 7 August simultaneously in several venues in Macao. Online registration for the competition dedicated to Chinese and Western instruments will be closed at 12am on 29 April, while the deadline for on-site registration and document submission for online registration will be closed at 7pm on 30 April. Interested parties shall submit an application and supporting documents in due course.

List of compulsory pieces required for the 34th Macao Young Musicians Competition in wind and percussion instruments examinations was enlarged

The Cultural Affairs Bureau organizes the “34th Macao Young Musicians Competition”, this year dedicated to Chinese and Western instruments, to be held between 25 July and 7 August in several venues in Macao. In order to promote the development of classical music in Macao and offer local young musicians valuable performance and learning opportunities, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has enlarged the list of compulsory pieces required by the Macao Young Musicians Competition for the wind and percussion instruments examinations. More information regarding the list of compulsory pieces can be checked and downloaded in the Macao Young Musicians Competition’s website (www.icm.gov.mo/cjmm). Applicants may consult the compulsory pieces scores from today at the Macao Central Library, Sir Robert Ho Tung Library and Taipa Library during office hours.

Applications for the “33rd Macao Young Musicians Competition” open in mid April

In order to promote the development of classical music in Macao, raise the training and musical interpretation ability of young musicians and offer learning and performance opportunities, the Cultural Affairs Bureau organises the 33rd Macao Young Musicians Competition, dedicated this year to piano, to take place between August 2 and 8. All interested parties are invited to apply online from April 13 to 18 and in person from April 19 and 22.
